news...A while ago we already informed you that AFNIC (.fr-registry) was considering to introduce IDN names (Internationalised Domain Names). The decision has now been made and AFNIC will soon introduce the possibility to register IDN names.
IDN names are names which can also contain non Latin characters such as é, è, î,… AFNIC plans the [More...] On February 20th 2012 the landrush for .jp.net domain began. This landrush will end on March 16th 2012. During this landrush everyone who wishes to do so, can register a domain name under the .jp.net extension. Moreover it’s also possible to register 1 and 2 character domains.
If [More...] The Serbian registry now offers the IDN extension .срб (.serbia). Everyone who already owns a .rs name can register this name under the new IDN extension for free until mid June.
You do need to take into account that your domain name will also be written in Cyrillic if you wish to register your name under [More...] ICANN, the umbrella organisation for gTLD’s, just published the numbers of the last quarter of 2011. These show that on October 31st 2011 100.540.971 .names were registered under the .com extension. In October 2011 alone, 690.243 new names were registered under this extension.
It’s remarkable Verisign itself (.com and .net registry) didn’t communicate at [More...] Afnic (.fr registry) considers to start offering IDN domain names. IDN names, Internationalised Domain Names, are names which also contain non-Latin characters such as é, è, î,…

Landrush .jp.net has started!

 On February 20th 2012 the landrush for .jp.net domain began. This landrush will end on March 16th 2012. During this landrush everyone who wishes to do so, can register a domain name under the .jp.net extension. Moreover it's also possible to register 1 and 2 character domains.
If 2 or more applications are filed for the same name, this name will be sold during an auction after the landrush to the highest bidder.
So don't wait any longer and add this new domain to your list!
