Only verified members of the global banking community are eligible to register .bank domains. Qualified registrants are for-profit and not-for profit business or organizations such as:
(3.1) State, regional and provincial banks that are chartered and supervised by a government regulatory authority;
(3.2) Savings associations that are charted and supervised by a government regulatory authority;
(3.3) National banks that are chartered and supervised by a government regulatory authority;
(3.4) Associations whose members are primarily comprised of entities identified above in 3.1, 3.2 or 3.3;
(3.5) Groups of associations whose members are primarily comprised of associations identified above in 3.4;
(3.6) Service providers that are principally owned by or predominantly supporting regulated entities identified above in 3.1, 3.2 or 3.3. (if approved by the Registry Operator Board); and
(3.7) Government regulators of chartered and supervised banks or savings associations or organizations whose members are primarily comprised of such government regulators (if approved by the Registry Operator Board).
Each domain submission will go through a verification process to ensure that registrations are made only with organizations that meet the eligibility requirements and verification is performed at the time of initial registration and with each renewal or every two years (whichever comes first), if there is a change to the organization name and upon request to the registrar by the Registry Operator. The registrant may be required to submit certain information to Registry Operator, or its designated third-party service provider, to verify its eligibility to register a domain name in .BANK.

Public Interest Commitments (PICs)
The following commitments are mandated by ICANN and included as Specification 11 in fTLD’s Registry Agreement. Public Interest Commitments (PICs) are reflected in our terms and conditions, the .BANK Policies or .BANK Security Requirements. Some PICs are included in .BANK Policies and in the Security Requirements.
When registering a .bank domain name, you also agree to:
Registered Name Holders are prohibited from distributing malware, abusively operating botnets, phishing, piracy, trademark or copyright infringement, fraudulent or deceptive practices, counterfeiting or otherwise engaging in activity contrary to applicable law, and providing (consistent with applicable law and any related procedures) consequences for such activities including suspension of the domain name.
Registrants are required to comply with all applicable laws, including those that relate to privacy, data collection, consumer protection (including in relation to misleading and deceptive conduct), fair lending, debt collection, organic farming, disclosure of data, and financial disclosures.
Registrants who collect and maintain sensitive health and financial data must implement reasonable and appropriate security measures commensurate with the offering of those services, as defined by applicable law.
Registrants are required to provide administrative contact information, which must be kept up-to-date, for the notification of complaints or reports of registration abuse, as well as the contact details of the relevant regulatory, or industry self-regulatory, bodies in their main place of business.
The registrant is required to possess any necessary authorizations, charters, licenses and/or other related credentials for participation in the sector associated with the TLD.
Registrants are required to report any material changes to the validity of the registrants' authorizations, charters, licenses and/or other related credentials for participation in the sector associated with the TLD in order to ensure they continue to conform to appropriate regulations and licensing requirements and generally conduct their activities in the interests of the consumers they serve.
The Registered Name Holder shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Registry Operator, Registry Service Provider, Registry Verification Agent, and other contractually obligated vendors, and in each case, their Affiliates, partners, subcontractors, subsidiaries, divisions, shareholders, directors, officers, employees, accountants, attorneys, insurers, agents, predecessors, successors, and assigns, from and against any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, costs, expenses, causes of action, or other liabilities of any kind, whether known or unknown, including reasonable legal and attorney's fees and expenses, in any way arising out of, relating to, or otherwise in connection with, the Registered Name Holder's domain name registration. This indemnification obligation of Registered Name Holder shall survive the termination or expiration of the Registration Agreement.
The Registry Operator reserves the right to deny, cancel or transfer any Registered Name registration or transaction, or place any Registered Name (s) on registry lock, hold or similar status, as it deems necessary, in its unlimited and sole discretion: (i) to comply with specifications adopted by any industry group generally recognized as authoritative with respect to the Internet (e.g., RFCs), (ii) to correct mistakes made by Registry Operator or any Registrar in connection with a domain name registration, or (iii) for the non-payment of Fees to Registry Operator. In addition, Registered Name Holder consents to collection and use of Personal Data in connection with domain registration(s) in the Registry TLD.
fTLD Security Requirements
Registrant also agrees to the Security Requirements referenced at which Requirements may be amended
from time-to-time to meet the security and other needs of the global
financial services community.
Providing or using privacy or proxy service in conjunction with a .bank registration is not allowed.
Registry Operator may offer premium domain names that are subject to non-standard registration fees. Please ask us about pricing for these domain names
Registrant agrees that in the event of any dispute concerning the time of the entry of a Registered Name registration into the Registry System, the timestamp shown in the Registry System records shall control.
Registrant agrees to comply with ICANN standards, policies, procedures, and practices for which Registry Operator has monitoring responsibility in accordance with the Registry Agreement or other arrangement with ICANN.
Registrant shall take all necessary action(s) as directed by Registrar or Registry Operator in relation to compliance actions, directives, or instructions from ICANN, and/or as otherwise directed by Registry Operator in its sole discretion as being reasonably necessary for the provision of Registry Services, and enforcing compliance with Registry Operator’s Operational and Security Requirements and Operations Pledge, including monitoring for compliance regarding the Registered Name.
