The Ubiquiti Unifi is a widely used and very versatile system for networks and WiFi. If you're running a server within your local network and don't have a fixed IP, then you can set-up your domain name with with a dynamic IP and then instruct your Unifi router to inform us if your IP-address ever changes.
The first step is to create the dyn-ip record in our system. In this example we purposefully used the wrong IP-address to start with. That way we can later on verify if Ubiquiti has indeed updated the address.

Then log-in to your Unifi control panel and go to "Settings". Under "Services" you'll find the option "Dynamic DNS". Click on "Create new dynamic DNS".

On the settings page, set the following information:
Service: dyndns
Hostname: Enter the complete hostname. In our example this is dyn.yourname.be
Username: Is always the same as Hostname
Password: The password you have chosen when creating the dyn-ip on our webinterface
Server: www.bnamed.net/dyn/dyn.asp
Click "save".

It can take about one minute before your Unifi actually updates the IP-address and then it can again take up to one minute before the update has propagated to all internet providers. So within a minute or two, you should be able to verify that the IP-address has been updated.
